Choose the right checkpoint

A reader for the workflow.

An operator using a handheld reader to check a circuit board held in a fixture at an electronics workbench.
OPERATOR-ASSISTED

Handheld

Bring the reader to the item for checks at a bench, storage location or custody handoff. Evaluate position, handling and operator access.

An automated reader scanning an electronic component on a circuit board with red light.
PROCESS-INTEGRATED

Fixed & automated

Plan a reading point around item movement, fixture geometry and throughput. Multi-read requirements are scoped for the application.

The deployment conversation

Start where the item
already stops.

  1. 01

    Position

Confirm the chip is within the supported reading geometry.

  2. 02

    Performance

Test throughput, first-pass reads and exception conditions.

  3. 03

    Connection

Define the interface and how the read reaches the authorized system.

Configuration questions

Make the
connection clear.

Can I use my existing barcode scanner?

A standard barcode scanner reads printed codes. A p-Chip read needs compatible hardware; combined configurations can read the printed code and microtransponder together.

Is Authium required?

The integration is scoped around the application. Reader interfaces and supported alternatives to Authium are established during technical review.

What read range and speed are supported?

Distance, angle, light access and read rate vary by reader and application. Request the specification for the configuration being evaluated.

Let’s make it work
