Laboratory operations
Identify slides, tissue cassettes, vials and other carriers at the point of work.

Life sciences
Connect specimens and consumables with their authorized records at the handoffs where identity matters most.

Evaluate readability in your cold-storage environment, including the effect of frost and ice.
Support recorded identity checks at custody changes and critical transfers.
From collection to result
Specimens move through containers, processes, storage locations and systems. A fixed identifier on the carrier helps confirm which registered item is present at each checkpoint.
When material moves to a new container, an explicit association step connects the source and destination records. The chip identifies the carrier; controlled procedures establish the identity of its contents.

A configured workflow
Each checkpoint connects the physical item with the record the process expects.
Associate the tagged carrier with the authorized accession or material record.
Read the identity at receipt, processing, transfer or storage.
Connect the outcome to your LIMS or other configured system.
Application questions
Avantor and p-Chip announced a co-development collaboration in October 2025. Product-family availability and evaluation options are confirmed during an application review.
The chip identifies the tagged container or carrier. Initial registration, material transfers and the configured record relationships establish the connection to the specimen.
The integration is scoped around your existing system of record. Interfaces, qualification and workflow changes depend on the configuration.
